Frank Chimero's tribute to Gary, Aaron Draplin's late puppy, is equally great as it is sad. I had to share and then go cry in the corner while the rest of the PUBLIC SCHOOLers weren't lookin'. Losing a pup sucks. Glad Draplin is getting plenty of internet love to help him out.

My buddy Grant did this excellent "exercise in contrast". It got me pumped and ready for the week.

Easily the coolest soccer goal celebration around. Clearly it was pre-planned and audacious, but amazing nonetheless.

How cool would that be to have the President of the United States write you a letter, just to let you know he liked your book. That'd be one of the better reviews you could receive.

Hilarious

WD-40's takin' it back a few years with their new (old) packaging. It's messy business working with WD-40 but my Dad used to use it on dang near everything we were working on. Its awesome stuff.

I've been getting way in to Max Stalling's music. Its refreshing to hear country music like his still being played.

I spent the early morning photographing people and the farming going on at Johnson's Backyard Garden farm out east of Austin with Ryan Rhodes. We're working to help promote the Community Supported Farm that this guy, Brenton Johnson, started a few years back. With several hundred members it is one of the largest Community Supported farms in the southwest.

Tomorrow I'll have the first of a few photo stories posted on PUBLIC SCHOOL about the farm and the goings-on going on there.

Greatness

Lauren Ford called me a few weeks back and asked me to photograph Adam Dell, Michael Dell's brother, for this month's TRIBEZA Green Issue. He was a super nice guy and has some awesome furniture at his house.

As for the photo itself, I shot the portrait in front of his shared space garden. He allows someone to come use part of his yard for gardening in exchange for some of the yield. He started a site that hooks urban green thumbs up with folks who have extra land and are willing to do a little "share cropping" style gardening. Seems pretty green to me.

You don't know how sad I am that the Space Shuttle is nearing the end of its program life. I'm especially sad to see this last tank go. Apparently some of the folks working on this one have been with the production program for the entire 37 year life. It's truly a sad day. Not nearly as sad as the 4th of July though.
